Controversial Nunes Memo Released — BREAKING

I've got to say, I don't really trust this guy to untangle a vast conspiracy.

Nunes said on Fox News Friday that he has "an obligation to the American people, when we see FISA abuse".

He praised the agency's high integrity, work ethic and professionalism that is "unrivaled anywhere in the world".

Democrats on the committee are calling false a memo assertion that then-deputy director of the FBI Andrew McCabe testified in a closed committee hearing that the dossier was crucial to obtaining the FISA warrant.

Before the US election, Donald Trump welcomed the use of data hacked by Russia and released by WikiLeaks to undercut his opponent in the campaign. "What's going on in this country, I think it's a disgrace".

Democrats say that is the real and political objective here, to undermine Mueller's investigation.

Mueller inherited the probe in May of 2017. It's also unusual in American history to pit the White House, and half of Congress, against a non-partisan agency of the Federal government. The California Democrat said Sunday on ABC's "This Week" that he requested that the committee first question the FBI and review the full supporting materials before releasing the memo, but Republicans voted his motions down.

Nevertheless, the memo's authors don't dispute any of the reporting in the piece and fail to acknowledge that the speech Page gave in Moscow was in the public domain. "Rank & File are great people!"

"Prior to the release of this memo by the House Intelligence Committee, the Justice Department and the FBI raised serious and genuine concerns about the implications for our national security and stated that the memo omits key facts that 'fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy, '" Collins, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in a statement. That warrant was reauthorized multiple times, including by Rosenstein.

The memo states that the decision to spy on Page was based on a dossier written by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who Republicans claim had an overt anti-Trump bias. It notes that the application also included information regarding Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, suggesting there was intelligence beyond the dossier in the Page application. He says he'd know the difference "between a Level 10 situation" and "what was reality". It's unclear how much has been corroborated by the FBI.

It's unclear why the president put his last name in quotation marks, although he often speaks of himself in the third-person, and the tweet used the word "their" instead of "there".

The crisis surrounding Russia's alleged involvement in US elections has worsened. It was later picked up by the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign through a Washington law firm.

This memo totally vindicates "Trump" in probe.

Yet the Trump memo drama is also a case of potential disinformation being promoted to the public.

White House officials say President Donald Trump will clear the way for the publication of a classified memo on the Russia investigation. Steele wrote a now-famous dossier alleging ties between Trump associates and the Kremlin, a document at the center of Republicans' complaints about the bureau.
